Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.
Jayalalithaa will visit Arignar Anna Zoological Park on Friday to
christen seven tiger cubs. This is her maiden visit as Chief Minister.
The last CM to visit the Zoo was M. Karunandhi in 1989.
During
her visit, Ms. Jayalalitha will give seven tiger cubs their names. Four
of them are white tigers and the other three are Royal Bengal tigers.
The zoo, popularly known as Vandalur Zoo, has 13 white tigers and a
total of 21 tigers in all.
Ms.
Jayalalithaa will also lay the foundation stones for the Tamil Nadu
Forest Academy Centenary Auditorium and the Wild Animals Research
Centre.
